I had to search quite a bit to find the right pic to introduce Yajalon, the least touristed and probably most important place we visited. Important cause Pepe and his mom both lived here for many years and were aching to return, and least touristed because, haw, as Pepe says, "there is not a single attraction." I couldn't help but think of a lot of un-touristed places in USA. Yajalon, then, is its own attraction. The people are not poor, though some are obviously better off than others. I don't know the ins and outs of central american economies but Yajalon's looked to be churning along (coffee and fruit and agriculture) and the people are modest and hardworking like most Mexicans. It was a real honor to meet so many of them.
